VODOHOD OPENS 2025 RIVER TRAVEL SEASON

23 April 2025
The Vodohod company has opened its 22nd river navigation. Today, on April 23, the ships Konstantin Korotkov, Konstantin Simonov and Mustai Karim headed from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow. During the season, Vodohod offers over 1,500 river cruises along the Russian inland waterways. Cruise navigation will last until November 23. During this period, Vodohod plans to take in over 150 thousand guests of its ships.
In the upcoming season, Vodohod has put its entire fleet – 26 ships – into operation.
Fleet renovation
For the new season, as part of the corporate program for the development and renovation of passenger fleet, most of the company’s ships have undergone massive renovation in terms of aesthetic repairs: new flooring, wall panels, updated furniture and curtains, improved design and ergonomics of public spaces and cabins.
Multimodal tours from Vodohod: Grozny, Makhachkala, Murmansk, Teriberka
In 2025, Vodohod continues to elaborate the idea of multimodal tours, when a cruise can be easily combined with other means of transport and travel services. The best combination of a river cruise and an eventful land tour of varying duration allows to visit locations remote from river routes without additional costs or organizational issues.
During the ship’s stop in Astrakhan, you can go to the capital of the Chechen Republic, Grozny, for a couple of days, or discover the ancient cities of Dagestan – Makhachkala and Derbent. A trip to the North Caucasus can be made as part of some cruises in August and September.
Vodohod offers to visit “the edge of the world” and feel the breath of the Arctic Ocean as part of the cruise tour “To Meet the Arctic”. During the cruise starting in St. Petersburg, tourists will not only traditionally stop in Karelia, but will also be offered a 4-day tour on the deluxe train Arktika to the Hero City Murmansk and the village of Teriberka.
To Veliky Novgorod and Vyborg on the ship Rus
Vodohod offers guests of the ship Rus the “Cruise +” option with additional guided tours in Vyborg and Veliky Novgorod. Additional bus trips can be taken before or after the selected cruise with departure from and/or arrival in St. Petersburg.
Solovetsky Islands in additional programs
Some cruises on the ships Konstantin Fedin, Kronstadt and Lenin include a visit to the Solovetsky Islands as part of an additional guided tour. Guests of the ships will have the chance to go on a 2-day tour to Solovki and visit the amazing sites of the archipelago with excursions to the famous Solovetsky Kremlin and the mysterious Zayatsky Island.
Mariinsky Posad – a Chuvash city with Mari roots
This year, Vodohod offers even more cruises with a visit to the picturesque Chuvash city Mariinsky Posad. Tourists can choose from 28 cruises departing from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Saratov, Volgograd and Astrakhan.
Gastronomic specialties
Within the framework of the gastronomic concept “Native Shores”, guests can taste new dishes; in the new season, updated thematic dinners “Atlas of Russia” will be served on ships of all classes on voyages lasting 5 days or more. New signature cocktails and products from Russian winemakers have been added to the bar menu.
On expedition cruises on the ship Maxim Gorky, the company’s chef Ivan Shishkov will offer guests a gastronomic dinner “Yenisei Expedition”, and the chef of the Krasnoyarsk restaurant of Siberian cuisine Master of Taiga Alexey Rovinets will personally present to guests the dinner of the same name – “Master of Taiga”.
Choose any destination for river travel with the company Vodohod in the new season and enjoy your much-inclusive vacation.
See you on board!
